What a centrist day
I've recently been able to put my weight on both legs evenly. It's been a slow move to the middle as I recover from a twisted ankle. And as I sit here on the couch watching Obama head to the middle in his State of the Union speech, I'm struck how Apple is dead center with the launch of the iPad. And I'm impressed by the company leadership's vision and restraint.
I'm bummed about the list of not haves about as much as I'm bumming on my ankle right now. It sucks, but it will get better in time.
It is a 3rd category. Neither laptop, nor desktop. Nor lean in or back. It's the perfect "PC" for my mother in law. It's priced so most people could buy it. It's lessen the mobile carriers grip a bit and it will most likely crush the kindle
They could have put more hardware in it, charged more and even made more per unit. They could have strapped it to a carrier exclusively or tried to make it a netbook.
instead, they realized the UI is the innovation. It matches the hardware innovation it represents. It's a new thing. And with a nod to the old and wise Nintendo. They launch an example of this new category with the most appeal.
As for Andriod versions. Its the UI stupid. Till someone sorts that our, it's all Apple
I have to admit I'm getting frustrated with the lack of root access though, something's got to give. And soon.
