I just read this article about the Navy deciding to only accept open systems from now on. For cost reasons. And to keep up with technology and the private sector. The irony will be that the new systems might just end up more secure too.

The Inevitable is here. Wow. I'm impressed with the speed. Lots of questions. Lots of potential. Second Life open sources its client side viewer code. How long till the server side gets opened? I'm guessing 9 months. Hell it already exists. Let the games

But then as I started to think who I could send this too, I laughed even harder realizing how few of my friends and family would get this. The future certainly is NOT evenly distributed.
